MAPP attended and presented at the Alloys for Additive Manufacturing Symposium 2022.

The conference took place from the 11th to the 14th of September 2022 at the Universität der Bundeswehr München.

Keynote speakers included the chair of MAPP's scientific advisory board Prof. Tresa Pollock, ALCOA Distinguished Professor of Materials, University of California Santa Barbara, USA. Prof. Pollock's talk was titled New Co-Ni Superalloys for 3D Printing.

Early-career invited speaker Dr Samy Hocine, MAPP, University College London, gave a talk titled Operando monitoring of laser powder bed fusion process using synchrotron X-rays and other correlative techniques.

Dr Felicity Freeman, MAPP, presented her recent work on microstructurally graded 17-4PH lattices for tailored mechanical response.

MAPP Director Prof. Iain Todd chaired the Plenary Session on Monday 12 September.

MAPP aligned Lucy Farquhar, PhD Researcher in the Advanced Metallic Systems Centre for Doctoral Training Programme at The University of Sheffield, presented her work on Weldability of Novel High Entropy Alloys for Selective Laser Melting.

The event continued the series of Europe-wide Additive Manufacturing workshops and symposiums which began at the Max-Planck Institute in 2016.  MAPP hosted the event in 2018.
