Sheffield MAPP investigator Dr Candice Majewski took part in Night Strider, a sponsored event held on behalf of Sheffield charity St Luke's Hospice.
She said: "St. Luke's provides support to terminally ill patients, as well as to their families and friends, and relies heavily on donations. The final numbers aren't in yet, but last year's event raised over £138,000 - let's hope they can beat that amount this year."
Night Strider is the annual nocturnal half marathon and 10k walking challenge that aims to raise more than £130,000 towards patient care.
Starting out from Tudor Square in Sheffield city centre as darkness fell, the walk headed out towards Ecclesall and then back to the Tudor Square finish line.
Night Strider, on Saturday 7th October, was once again sponsored by Gripple.
