The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining has announced its awards for 2019. 

Representing the highest achieving individuals and groups in the field of materials, minerals and mining, the IOM3 Awards raise awareness of engineering excellence and industry best practice.

The Institute awards, which date back to 1874, are renowned for their prestige and celebrate individuals who have made exceptional advancements to the profession.

MAPP Investigator Prof. Luc Vandeperre, Imperial College London, has received the Verulam Medal & Prize. The award is given in recognition of distinguished contributions to ceramics including refractories.

MAPP Director Prof. Iain Todd said: "I'm pleased Luc's work as a leading academic has been recognised with this prestigious award and that he is part of the MAPP team."
