MAPP is offering funding for at least three feasibility studies to conduct novel research which closely aligns with the Hub’s core research programme: Powders by Design and Process by Design.

We are looking for research projects that align with and complement MAPP’s research programme and have the potential to lead to further collaboration and funding bids.

The call is open to all UK academics eligible to receive EPSRC funding and is the primary mechanism for new academic collaborators to engage with the Hub.

MAPP Project Manager Karen Wood said: "We are delighted to announce our second round of feasibility funding following a hugely successful first round in 2018.

We are once again, looking for research projects that align with and complement our research programme and have the potential to lead to further collaboration and funding bids.

Our platform research themes focus on two key scientific and technological areas which are essential to delivering our vision – Powders by Design and Process by Design.

Within Powders by Design, our focus is on powder starting materials and developing a systems level approach to describing their behaviour.

Through Process by Design innovative processing, control and modelling approaches will be developed and applied to processes including powder bed additive manufacturing and spark plasma sintering.

We especially welcome applications from early career researchers who would like to work with a large future manufacturing hub."

Awards are limited to projects with a maximum duration of six months and maximum value of £50,000 (80% FEC).

The closing date for applications was 3rd November 2019 at 16:00. More details on the call can be downloaded below.
