MAPP is offering funding for up to four feasibility studies to conduct novel research which closely aligns with and complements our core research programme: Powders by Design and Process by Design.

The call opened on Monday 26th March to all UK academics eligible to receive EPSRC funding and is the primary mechanism for new academic collaborators to engage with us.

MAPP Project Manager Karen Wood said: "This is an exciting opportunity and we are looking forward to receiving submissions.

"We are looking for research projects that align with and complement our research programme and have the potential to lead to further collaboration and funding bids.

“Our platform research themes focus on two key scientific and technological areas which are essential to delivering our vision – Powders by Design and Process by Design.

“Within Powders by Design, our focus is on powder starting materials and developing a systems level approach to describing their behaviour.

“Through Process by Design innovative processing, control and modelling approaches will be developed and applied to processes including powder bed additive manufacturing and spark plasma sintering.”

Awards are limited to projects with a maximum duration of six months and a maximum value of £50,000 (80% FEC). The call for feasibility studies (announced 26th March)  is now closed.
