European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH) Colloquium 613 Microstructures and Micromechanisms in metal Additive Manufacturing

Professor Philip Withers, University of Manchester, is speaking at a EUROMECH Colloquium meeting, Microstructures and Micromechanisms in metal Additive Manufacturing.

His talk, titled Tomographic inspection of the internal defects introduced by additive manufacturing and their nucleation and propagation of cracks by time-lapse X-ray CT will be on Wednesday 7th July.

The colloquium will focus on "advanced thermo-mechanical characterization and multi-physics and multi-scale modelling approaches to study non-equilibrium microstructures obtained by additive manufacturing, with an emphasis on their genesis, evolution and their deformation and damage micro-mechanisms."
