Professor Michael Preuss

Professor Preuss' research focuses on microstructure, mechanical properties and residual stresses in high temperature materials - zirconium alloys, titanium alloys and nickel-base superalloys - for application in aerospace, oil and gas and nuclear sectors. Michael is Champion of the Materials for Demanding Environment Theme within The Royce Institute and deputy director of the Nuclear Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) at Manchester.

He has published almost 200 papers and is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. Michael leads the theme Functionalisation for Protection of Metal Powders [P1.4].
