Yi is a research fellow in the School of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Leeds. He received his PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2016. He has expertise in modelling and simulation of particulate systems. He is specialized in GPU-based high performance computing and has developed a range of GPU-based modelling capabilities, including DEM, SPH-DEM, LBM-DEM, and coupling of GPU-based DEM with commercial software ANSYS/Fluent. His MAPP research is mainly focused on the numerical study of powder flowability during additive manufacturing.
