MAPP's operations team is set to move to the Royce Discovery Centre, which focuses on early-stage research on materials discovery and processing, in June.

MAPP's Sheffield researchers have been based at the facility, at the University of Sheffield City Centre Campus, since 2021 and have been able to make use of the state-of-the-art specialist laboratories, workshops, and office spaces at the centre.

The Royce Discovery Centre takes materials and processing concepts and develops these from basic principles through analytical and experimental processes, with the aim of proving the concept in terms of feasibility and applicability for industrial use.

A leading Partner of the Henry Royce Institute, Royce at the University of Sheffield coordinates operations across two state-of-the-art facilities: the Royce Discovery Centre, which was officially opened in April 2022, and the Royce Translational Centre.
