Professor Ali Hassanpour gave an invited talk "On the Spreadability of Metal Powders for the Additive Manufacturing Application" at the Advances in Particle Technology workshop.

The workshop was held on the 14th and 15th of September in Leeds. Reliable and consistent operation of processes involving particulate solids depends on understanding powder behaviour through the characterisation of its chemical, physical and mechanical properties, and their interactions with process equipment. In the workshop, leading experts in the field outlined the latest advances in the field. The workshop provided a forum for addressing basic principles as well as discussing state-of-the-art techniques and the latest developments.

Prof. Hassanpour's talk was well received by the audience and became an important topic of a discussion forum at the event.

The workshop was tailored for scientists, engineers and technologists who wish to keep abreast of the developments and gain a better understanding of the characteristics of powders and grains with the purpose of addressing handling, processing and manufacturing issues from a fundamental basis.

Prof. Hassanpour is a member of MAPP's Executive Team.
